Meet Rachel
Two facts about me: I love working with people. And I’ve always loved to write and research.
When I became a lawyer, I didn’t just want to learn the law and practice my legal skills—I wanted to help people. My appellate practice includes everything I’m passionate about: I am able to work with people and use my legal experience to help them get the outcome they’re seeking.
After graduating from the University of Virginia and the University of Richmond Law School, magna cum laude, I completed a prestigious clerkship in the Henrico Circuit Court. I went on to become a trial lawyer and an appellate attorney, specializing in Virginia appeals.
I worked in the Criminal Appeals section of the Attorney General’s Office, which provided me with significant appellate litigation experience in front of the Court of Appeals of Virginia and Supreme Court of Virginia. I continued to represent the state on appeal when I worked as an in-house counsel for Virginia ABC.
Outside of my appellate work, I enjoy family time with my husband, our two sons, and (famous!) dog, as well as painting and reading.
I am a member of the Virginia State Bar’s appellate practice, administrative law, and criminal law divisions. I am also a member of the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and Richmond Bar Association.
